What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy can be defined as the use of hypnotic techniques intended to move a client towards health and wholeness. This move towards health and wholeness can range from simple behavioral changes such as helping a person to remove bad habits such as smoking or overeating to more powerful and sophisticated changes such as overcoming psychogenic or functional medical problems.

Hypnotherapy is a healing art based on scientifically proven methods. It is a very effective mode of therapy that is used in adjunct to any therapeutic specialty. In no way should Hypnotherapy services be interpreted as providing medical or psychiatric services. Hypnotherapy services are not offered as a replacement for counseling, psychotherapy, psychiatric or medical treatment. Hypnotherapy is a subconscious educational process that facilitates access to internal resources that assist people in increasing motivation, or altering behavior patterns to create positive change.
